His main academic and professional interests have been Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis and Management Science applications. He was president of the Brazilian Society of Operations Research and he is a founding member of the Brazilian Academy of Engineering. He has published various articles in scientific journals and has served as advisor to various theses and dissertations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"short-abstracttitle-fundamentals-of-multi-criteria-decision-analysis-a-reviewabstract-in-this-talk-i-review-the-basic-concepts-of-mcda-which-are-quite-important-to-understand-and-follow-before-we-engage-in-any-mathematical-modelling-practice-the-nature-of-mcda-is-therefore-revisited-and-this-is-accomplished-by-covering-the-following-class-of-concepts-features-of-multi-criteria-decision-problems-historical-development-of-mcda-decision-theory-and-decision-analysis-problem-structuring-setting-criteria-assessments-satisficing-solutions-preferences-trade-offs-guidelines-for-the-practioner\">FUNDAMENTALS OF MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION ANALYSIS: A REVIEW<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"short-abstracttitle-fundamentals-of-multi-criteria-decision-analysis-a-reviewabstract-in-this-talk-i-review-the-basic-concepts-of-mcda-which-are-quite-important-to-understand-and-follow-before-we-engage-in-any-mathematical-modelling-practice-the-nature-of-mcda-is-therefore-revisited-and-this-is-accomplished-by-covering-the-following-class-of-concepts-features-of-multi-criteria-decision-problems-historical-development-of-mcda-decision-theory-and-decision-analysis-problem-structuring-setting-criteria-assessments-satisficing-solutions-preferences-trade-offs-guidelines-for-the-practioner\">Abstract: In this talk I review the basic concepts of MCDA, which are quite important to understand and follow before we engage in any mathematical modelling practice.
